Feature and spot illustrations for Durham Cathedral. Created for the England's Heritage Cities group these images help to tell the story behind the site, including the 'father of history' the Venerable Bede, revealing the many layers of it's history.
Each illustration was created by hand and then digitally scanned. The main illustrations featured different masked layers and separate elements that could be manipulated in photoshop. The foreground layer was particularly important to hide any additional text that could be scrolled upwards by the user.

The illustrations were used across a microsite and a mobile app, so the final artwork had to be versatile for different screen sizes.
